How does collection and delivery work?
For a storage period of 6 months (26 weeks) or more, collection is free of charge from addresses in:
London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire only. Collection charges for contracts shorter than 6 months (26 weeks), and outside these areas, will be quoted according to location and availability. Our delivery rates (much lower than the typical 'self drive' charges!) are quoted at the time you request delivery to the location of your choice.

What is the lead time for collection and delivery of goods?
Usually a minimum of three days notice is required. Collections and deliveries are only made on weekday mornings between 7am and 12 noon,
subject to availability. This allows customers to plan their days more easily, and avoids having to wait in for a whole day - as is commonly the case with other storage companies who contract out their transport arrangements.

Do I have to load my own belongings?
No you don't! Our transport comes with a two-man team, to ensure the safest handling of your property and valuables. The loading team will also bring blankets to protect your furniture in transit. The 10 and 35 sq ft units are delivered to your home or office, and are loaded and sealed in your presence. We can also supply you with packing materials that will be couriered to you in advance of the collection day. You will need to package all of your items into boxes that can be easily handled by our team. There are helpful hints on how to do this - see under Buy Packaging
Belongings to be stored in the 160 and 320 sq ft units will be loaded on to our truck, and transferred to the secure units on arrival at our Safe Keeping facility.

Can I cancel collection/delivery?
Yes you can, by contacting our office in advance by phone. However, please note the following conditions:
1. If you postpone or cancel your collection/delivery, charges may apply if you give insufficient notice to us. Notice must given to our office during working hours, Mon-Fri 08.30-5.00 hrs, excluding public holidays.
2. If you postpone or cancel your collection/delivery giving less than one clear working day's notice to our office, 50% of the transport charge is payable.
3. Customers qualifying for Free Collection, who postpone/cancel giving less than one clear working day's notice, will be charged 50% of the standard transport charges normally applied to collections/deliveries.
Can I deliver myself?
You can, of course, deliver your goods directly to our sites, and collect them at the end of your storage contract. You will find, however, that our collection and delivery costs are probably far lower than self-drive, hired labour and external handling charges. For charges, click here.
If I come into storage for less than a 6 months (26 weeks) contract, but then end up being in storage for more than 6 months (26 weeks), can I have my collection charge refunded?
Unfortunately not. The Free Collection offer is for those customers who make a long-term commitment with Storing.com at the outset; this offer is not retrospective.
If I commit to a 6 months (26 weeks) storage contract or more, and receive my Free Collection - but then because my circumstances change need my belongings back earlier - will I have to pay for my collection?
Yes, it will be added to your final account when you go out of store, along with any other charges (if applicable).
Can I get a free delivery at the end of my storage period if I have stored for over 6 months (26 weeks)?
No, in all cases deliveries are charged for. Storing.com’s generous offer only applies to collections for a storage period of 6 months (26 weeks) or more in the specified areas.
How do I end my term of storage?
Simply complete the form at the bottom of the Collection & Delivery page, or click here.

Where are the storage facilities?
Our storage fees are up to half those charged by London-based storage companies. We achieve this by locating our storage facilities in Bedfordshire, about 50 minutes drive from central London. Most of our clients do not require frequent access to their property, and can therefore take advantage of our lower 'out of town' prices. And, of course, we will also collect and deliver to your door. For charges click here.
What type of storage facilities do you offer?
On our two totally secure sites, we offer a range of container storage facilities to suit all requirements. Our smaller containers are 10 and 35 sq ft, whilst the larger containers are 160 and 320 sq ft. You may book any permutation of these to achieve the storage capacity you require.

As for security - with swipe card access; initial personal photo-identity entry; on-site security personnel; and all the very latest security technology, you can be assured that your property and valuables benefit from our slogan - they're in very Safe Keeping.
What size of storage unit do we need?
The Space Calculator on this website will give you a guide to which storage unit you need and our storage advisors will confirm this with you.
Can you confirm the charges quoted on your website?
The Price Guide Form on this website will give you an approximate cost for storing your valuables and property, and it may well be the final price you will be charged. However, it is necessary that our storage advisors make a detailed appraisal of your storage requirements, to make sure you are getting the best value out of the storage unit(s) you have chosen. They can then confirm the prices to you,
perhaps give you an alternative storage solution, and discuss collection arrangements.
What are the access times and what are the charges for this?
There is no charge for access to your storage unit.
There is 24 hour, 7 days a week access to the larger units (160 and 320 sq ft). You will be given
personal security access to your storage units, and must provide a valid photo identification to gain access.
Access to the smaller units (10 and 35 sq ft) is available Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. We must have 24 hours' notice of your visit. If it is an emergency, we will do all we can to accommodate your timescales.
